  • Second Gallant Lady contributed to AMIkids

    by Jorge Mahauad | Jul 07, 2020
    Jeff Stanley at Gilman Yachts just facilitated the contribution of Comanche, an 87' 1985 Feadship Yachtfish.

    Comanche was built as the younger of two GALLANT LADY Feadship Sportfisherman yachts. The donation of her older sister (PATRIOT) to AMIkids in 2014 is now one of the landmarks signaling the beginnings of the 'modern' AMIkids Yacht Donation program.

    PATRIOT - 1984   87' Feadship

    When Comanche and Patriot were built, there were no large pedigree "Yacht Fisherman" on the water. Today, large sportfish like these are an exquisite market, almost a collectible. The trends have dictated newer, larger, and faster Sportfisherman, yet none have the class, grace, or quality of a Feadship.

    Work and craftsmanship have gone into upgrading her systems and features, yet her original Feadship features remain intact.

    Comanche represents a fabulous opportunity for the modern sportfishing aficionado interested in a medium-sized classic yacht-fish with all the features and comfort of state or the art vessels.  Read article

  • GRINDSTONE, original and timeless design

    by Jorge Mahauad | Mar 03, 2020
    81' 1977 Broward Motor Yacht

    Built by Broward Yachts (hull 159) at the Saugatuck yard, 81' megayacht Grindstone was delivered to her owner in 1977.

    81' 1977 Broward Motor Yacht

    Later renamed Pyewacket, she spent 30 years under the same owners, she gave years of incredible experiences - from the Bahamas to Maine.

    During those 30 years, the same meticulous captain has kept a relentless commitment to care, maintenance, and upgrades. Pyewacket (now Grindstone again) was last refitted in 2005. There is very little that is original, although all the upgrades have been in keeping with the original and timeless design.

    81' 1977 Broward Motor Yacht

    Her sophisticated exterior was styled by the Broward team, who was also responsible for the entire engineering package. Grindstone was featured in the 'World Class' section of Yachting Magazine in August 1984.

  • SKIPJACK

    by Jorge Mahauad | Nov 08, 2019

    Once in a lifetime, there will be a yacht whose exemplary care, custody, and refinements are hard to grasp – "SKIPJACK" is such a vessel.
    2007 42 Sabre SkipjackA very successful model, the Sabre 42' embodies the graceful styling, luxurious and comfortable accommodations and high-quality construction typical to all Sabre Yachts.

    Once in a lifetime, there will be a yacht whose exemplary care, custody, and refinements are hard to grasp – "SKIPJACK" is such a vessel.

    She is genuinely a Gentlemen's Cruiser.  Words and photographs will not begin to express the love and resources poured into this vessel.

    Extremely customized, Skipjack's first impression highlights a hand-laid teak deck plus a custom teak bow-pulpit and swim-step.

    A closer look will reveal some brilliant additions such as a lift-operated 40" flat-panel TV hidden inside a custom-built cherry wood corner cabinet and an enlarged master berth.

    However,  her customization is much more extensive than one would expect at first sight. Every area of this yacht has especially designed and masterfully crafted. We recommend you view her as her teak cabinetry, trim, and finishes will exceed your expectations.

    - Serviced and repaired all seacocks and through-hull fittings;
    - Replaced and upgraded all main engine raw intake hoses and clamps;
    - Reconditioned and updated her running gear;
    - Applied prop speed to all running gear; and

"We always knew about AMIkids, but in 2019 I became involved in a transaction and took an interest to learn about the work various schools do. It struck me —supporting AMIkids is a way in which I can pay-back.

I got involved in helping kids in rough environments make better choices and get on a better route to success. I was happy to be invited to join the board of trustees and help contribute in the ways that I can."
