Youth transform their lives every day at AMIkids.
AMIkids offers a wide range of programs and services across the nation designed to provide the extra support youth need to discover their true potential. Our programs and services are organized into six main categories: Community Services – Facility Based, Residential Programs, Workforce Development, Family Services, Behavioral Health, and Education.
Community Services – Facility Based
Our community-based programs offer daily services to youth and families, allowing youth to return home each day. These programs are designed to provide support and intervention within the community.
Juvenile Justice Day Treatment
Juvenile Justice Day Treatment provides intensive supervision and programming for youth referred primarily due to delinquency. Behavior and skills training, education, and treatment services are provided five days per week, typically three to eight hours daily.
Alternative Education
For students who need more support than traditional schools can offer, our alternative education programs provide academic remediation, positive behavioral skills development, and individualized attention to help them succeed.
After School Programs
We offer a variety of after-school activities, including tutoring, career readiness, and technical training. These programs engage youth in positive opportunities that prepare them for future success.
Delinquency Prevention
Our gender-specific life management skills training, educational services, and youth development activities are designed to prevent entry or further involvement in the juvenile justice system.
Residential Programs
Our residential programs provide a safe, structured, and supportive environment for youth who require out-of-home care. Operating 24/7, our dedicated staff implement trauma-responsive programming to help youth develop the skills necessary for a successful transition back to their homes and communities.
Juvenile Justice Residential
We offer 24-hour rehabilitative care for youth referred primarily due to delinquency. Our programs include treatment services for youth with mental health and/or substance abuse conditions, providing a comprehensive approach to their well-being.
Child Welfare Group Care
For youth in need of a structured out-of-home placement, our group care programs provide a supportive 24-hour living environment.
Specialized Therapeutic
We provide 24-hour psychotherapeutic rehabilitative care for youth facing severe behavioral, psychological, or emotional challenges, ensuring they receive the specialized attention and treatment they need.
Workforce Development
We believe in preparing youth for a successful future. Our workforce development programs, designed for youth aged 16-24, combine school-based and work-based learning to help them acquire job readiness skills, earn industry-recognized certifications, and transition into the workforce.
Career and Technical Education
We offer hands-on training and certification opportunities in a variety of fields, equipping youth with the skills and credentials they need to secure employment. Last year, our youth earned 1,870 industry-recognized certifications.
Pre-Apprenticeship and Career Exploration
Our programs help youth explore different career paths and gain valuable work experience through pre-apprenticeship opportunities.
Marine Apprenticeship

Family Services
We recognize that family involvement is crucial to a youth’s success. Our family services are designed to strengthen families and provide them with the tools they need to support their children.
Home-Based Skills Building
We provide in-home skills training for families, focusing on improving communication, problem-solving, and overall family functioning.
AMIkids Family Centric Model™ (FCM)
Our evidence-based model provides research-informed skills training for families to reduce anti-social behaviors and improve the psychosocial functioning of youth.
Functional Family Therapy (FFT)
As a strengths-based, research-driven model, FFT is provided in the home for an average of 12-16 sessions over three to six months to reduce risk factors and increase protective factors for youth and their families.
Behavioral Health
We are committed to addressing the mental health and well-being of the youth we serve. Our behavioral health services provide comprehensive assessment and treatment for youth with behavioral, emotional, and substance abuse challenges.
Outpatient Treatment Services
Our outpatient services include screening, crisis/risk assessment, comprehensive assessment with behavioral health diagnosis, case coordination, and counseling services, including individual, family, and group therapy.
Specialized Therapeutic Programs
For youth with more severe needs, our specialized programs offer intensive psychotherapeutic care in a residential setting.
Education
Education is a cornerstone of our approach. We provide educational opportunities that are tailored to the individual needs of our students, helping them to achieve academic success and prepare for their future.
Alternative Education
Our programs are designed to help students who have struggled in traditional school settings. We provide academic remediation, credit recovery, and a supportive learning environment to help them get back on track. In the past year, our youth have earned 4,016 school credits.
Individualized Learning Plans
We work with each student to develop an individualized learning plan that addresses their unique academic needs and goals.
GED and High School Diploma Programs
We offer programs to help youth earn their GED or high school diploma, opening doors to higher education and employment opportunities.
Experiential Education
Explore the concept of Experiential Education and its impact on learning and growth in various educational settings.
