Dudley Savage

Dudley grew up in Mystic, Connecticut. After high school he lived aboard a boat and took regular trips to Block Island, Rhode Island, where he met his wife of 50 years, Marsha, on July 4, 1970.

Dudley later enlisted in the Navy to be a submariner. After sub school in Groton, Connecticut, he was stationed aboard the USS Amberjack, a diesel-powered submarine based in Key West, Florida.

After leaving the Navy, Dudley joined AMIkids and helped open the third program in Jacksonville, Florida. He worked as a seamanship instructor and he’s very proud that one of his students went on to start his own boat-building business after graduation.

After a few years, Dudley moved to St. Petersburg, Florida and opened Savage Yachts, a successful yacht brokerage company he ran for 30 years. During his years as a yacht broker, Dudley facilitated numerous contributions to AMIkids.

When the opportunity arose, Dudley sold Savage Yachts and rejoined the AMIkids family as a yacht donation facilitator. He has had the privilege of working with all four AMIkids Presidents and feels very blessed by the many friendships he has made with donors, lessees, and brokers.
