  • Jacksonville school for troubled youth to begin new era with renovation

    Brian Pepitone had been arrested twice by the time he was 14, once for drug possession, once for assault. But with the help of an attentive probation officer and AMIkids Jacksonville, a school for troubled youth, he has gotten his life on track. He earned his high school equivalency and at 17 is now closing in on an associate degree from Florida State College at Jacksonville. He hopes to go on to the University of South Florida and envisions a career in international relations and politics. He is grateful for being steered to AMIkids. “They’ve saved my life more times than I can count,” he said. “It’s not just what they do, but how they do it. They’re there for you.”
